This is my African symmetry mask that I made in year 7. It was a class project where each of us would make our own unique masks to test our symmetry, clay-moulding and style flexibility. I really enjoyed this project, and I am very proud of the result.
When I visited the Tate Modern in London, I was inspired by David Hockneys' piece, 'The Bigger Splash'.
I liked the simplistic use of colour and straight lines, but my eyes were more drawn to the detail of the splash itself.
I found matching the colours to the original piece and drawing the straight lines were my biggest challenge.
If I were to re-do the painting I would aim to get a better shad
